PURPOSE

This rule establishes policy regarding the College President for Hillsborough Community College (HCC).

RULE

The President of Hillsborough Community College is the executive officer and corporate secretary of the District Board of Trustees as well as the chief administrative officer of the College. All components of the institution and all aspects of its operation are responsible to the District Board of Trustees through the President. The duties and responsibilities of the President shall include those prescribed by law, rules of the Florida Board of Education, and policies and directives of the District Board of Trustees.

The administrative rules that refer to the President will be interpreted to mean the President or designee, unless restricted by state statute or regulation. The President’s designee may be appointed at any time in any manner at the President’s discretion, which shall be documented in writing. In the event of the President’s absence without a designee appointed, the District Board of Trustees will appoint a senior Campus President or District Vice President to serve as the President’s designee.
