PURPOSE

This rule establishes policy designating the District Board of Trustees of Hillsborough Community College as the corporate body, as permitted by state statute.

RULE

The Board of Trustees is constituted as a body corporate by the name of "The District Board of Trustees of Hillsborough Community College, Florida", with the powers and duties of a body corporate as described in State law. In all suits against this Board, service of process will be made on the Chair of the Board, and in the absence of the Chair, on the President or designee of the Chair.

The Board has all powers necessary and proper for the governance and operation of the College in accordance with the provisions of state law and rules of the Florida Department of Education.
