About the gallery
The development of the HCC Art Galleries dates to 1977 when the Visual Arts building on the HCC Ybor City Campus was completed, adding to the historic Tampa neighborhood’s culturally and artistically rich community. In addition to classrooms and art studios, a small gallery, largely for exhibiting student work, was established to support the visual arts curriculum of HCC. The Performing Arts building, built in 1978 and expanded in 2007, eventually became the new home of Ybor Campus gallery, which is today Gallery114. Today, this gallery maintains a strong connection with the Visual and Performing Arts department while also showcasing diverse contemporary artists.
