HCC Foundation Scholarship
Generous donors to the HCC Foundation help make these scholarships possible for students. Scholarships are typically awarded for one academic year or term (fall and spring; or spring only), unless otherwise noted. HCC Foundation scholarships are intended for students who will be degree-seeking during the term(s) for which the scholarship applies.
State Scholarships
Bright Futures Scholarships are merit-based and awarded to eligible high school graduates. Students must apply for this scholarship while still in high school. Be sure to enter HCC's Bright Futures code: 292

Institutional Scholarships
HCC Institutional Need and Incentive-Based Scholarships do not have to be repaid and are usually awarded on a competitive basis with scholastic achievement, and financial need as the main determinants.
Art Scholarship: Students receive institutional scholarships for their participation in the college’s Arts, Publications, Drama, Dance, Music, and Student Support Services programs.
Board of Trustees Scholarship: Covers 12 credit hours per term for three consecutive academic years (fall and spring semesters only) up to a maximum of 72 credit hours (minus any college credits earned prior to receiving the scholarship or credits taken other than fall and spring semesters). This scholarship includes $400 for textbooks and supplies from the HCC bookstores.
Child Care Scholarship: The Child Care Scholarship is an award intended to assist students with the costs of childcare, either on or off campus.
Collegiate 100 Scholarship: Students receive institutional scholarships for their participation in the college’s Arts, Publications, Drama, Dance, Music, and Student Support Services programs.
Dance: Students can apply for and receive scholarships in dance for talent, academic achievement, service and leadership while participating in the HCC Dance Department.
Disabled Students Scholarship: Awarded to students with disabilities and registered with the disabilities office.
Electrical Line Worker Scholarship: The Electrical Line Worker Scholarship is designed to provide students with the fundamental knowledge and basic skills needed when seeking a career opportunity in the electric utility industry as a line worker trainee. Students who successfully complete the program will have the chance to interview with TECO for an entry-level Electrical Line Worker position.
Hillsborough County IT Scholarship: The Hillsborough County IT Certification Scholarship covers 100% of the cost associated with the approved courses in CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and Certified Cloud Professional.
Honors Program Foundation Scholarship: Awards up to $750 per semester for tuition only. Scholarships are typically awarded for one academic semester (fall or spring), unless otherwise noted. Recipients must reapply for each semester.
Music Scholarship: Music Scholarships are merit-based. Students must be enrolled in a full slate of music courses including theory/aural skills, lessons and ensemble. Additionally, consideration is given to the student’s overall contribution to the music department through performances, activity in the HCC Music Club, and general attitude and work ethic.
Open Door Scholarship: The Open Door Scholarship is designed to support students completing short-term and technical education credentialing courses in a high-demand field. Funds will cover 100% of tuition costs, fees, examination, books, and materials for approved workforce training programs in Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Cloud Professional, and CompTIA A+.

Sunshine Health Works Scholarship for CNAs: The Sunshine Health Works Scholarship assists individuals seeking to become a Nursing Assistant or Home Health Aide. The scholarship covers 90% of the cost associated with the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide educational opportunities in entry-level medical disciplines that result in nationally accredited certifications and job placement assistance.
Theatre: Students can apply for and receive scholarships in theatre for talent, academic achievement, service and leadership while participating in the HCC Theatre Department.
University Area CDC (UACDC) Scholarship: Individuals who are currently involved with UACDC INVEST Workforce and the UACDC STEPS® program can fast-track into meaningful and sustainable careers in Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Phlebotomy Technician (CPT), EKG Technician (CET), Accredited Claims Adjuster (ACA), and Registered Customer Service Representative (RCSR).
Hillsborough Education Foundation Scholarships
Hillsborough Education Foundation awards twelfth grade students with aspirations of continuing their education after high school at a university, community or technical college with scholarships ranging from $500 to $40,000.
