How do I apply to HCC?

To learn more about HCC, visit our Admissions page. If you are ready to apply, complete our free online application. 

I've submitted an application, what's next?

We are excited to have you as a Hawk! Be on the lookout for your acceptance email that will include your HCC login. Check out our Steps to Enroll for your next steps based on your student type.

How do I setup my HCC Login for the first time?

Your HCC login and instructions are included in your welcome email once admitted. Visit our HCC Login page for help.

I am interested in a Health Science Program, how do I apply?

Most of our Health Sciences programs require an additional application and have specific pre-requisite admission requirements. Visit our Health Sciences Admissions webpage for application deadlines and admission requirements for each program.

How do I change my academic program after I've applied? 

To change your program after you’ve applied, please complete a Program Change Request online.

Where can I find a paper application for admission?     

It is highly recommended that you complete the free online application. If you need to submit a paper application, you can download it here. You can drop your completed form off at any HCC Admissions and Registration office. Additionally, you may mail the application to the following address:

Paying for College

When do I pay my tuition and fees?

Your tuition and fees are due on the designated payment due date for each semester which can be found on the Academic Calendar. If you register for a class after the payment due date you must pay upon registration to ensure you are not dropped.

How do I apply for Financial Aid?

Visit our Financial Aid page for information on completing the FAFSA and how to connect with a Financial Aid Counselor. If you have already been accepted to HCC and completed your FAFSA, you can check the status of your award package via Financial Aid Self-Service in the MyHCC Portal.

Steps to Enroll and Registering for Classes

What is residency?

A Florida Resident Discount is available for students who are classified as an in-state Florida Resident. To find out if you qualify as a Florida resident for tuition purposes please see our Proof of Residency page.

How do I submit my transcripts?

Transcripts can be sent electronically, mailed, or hand delivered to an HCC campus. Visit our transcripts page for more information. 

How do I connect with an Academic Advisor?

To connect with an advisor, you can walk-in to any campus or make a phone or virtual appointment. Please note that appointments may be limited during registration periods, but advisors are always available on a walk-in basis!

Do I have to take a placement exam?

The placement test is a good indicator of your skill levels in reading, writing and math. An academic advisor can help you make this decision. Visit our Placement Testing FAQs for more information. 

How do I complete Orientation?

Students are required to attend either Group or Online Orientation. Visit our Orientation page to determine the type you should attend and sign-up.

What types of classes does HCC offer?

HCC offers a range of course delivery options ranging from fully in-person to fully online. Visit the Class Types page for more information, and use our online search to browse class availability by type.

How do I register for classes?

You can register for classes in HawkGPS via the MyHCC Portal. Visit the Register Now page for steps and a video tutorial.

What is FERPA?

FERPA is the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and is a federal law enacted to protect the privacy of student educational records. The FERPA Consent Form authorizes the release of your information to other parties. 

What does it mean to drop or withdraw from a class?

Dropping a course means that you took action to remove the course from your schedule BEFORE the drop/add deadline shown on the HCC Academic Calendar (or your course schedule).

Withdrawing from a course means that you registered for the course and it was still on your schedule AFTER the drop/add deadline shown on the HCC Academic Calendar when you took action to remove the course from your schedule.

What is the Hawk Book Bundle?

The Hawk Book Bundle is a one-stop book rental program that provides access to your required course materials before the first day of class. At just $22 per credit hour, the Hawk Book Bundle averages a savings of 35 - 50% throughout your academic journey. 

One month before classes start, you will receive an email instructing you to review your courses and choose how to receive your materials. If you prefer not to participate in the program, you’ll need to opt out each semester. You can update your participation status starting 30 days before the semester begins. For more information please visit Hawk Book Bundle. (Note: Emails will come from our bookstore partner at coursematerials@email.bncollege.com, not from HCC.)

I attended HCC, how can I request my transcripts?

Current and former students can request official electronic or paper copies of their transcripts by following the below steps:

  1. Log in to the MyHCC portal using your full hawkmail email address and password.
  2. Select ‘Transcript Request' under HCC Links
