PURPOSE

This rule establishes policy for academic standings for students at Hillsborough Community College.

RULE

The Board of Trustees establishes student performance standards for the award of degrees and certificates. These requisite standards include academic warning, regaining satisfactory academic standing, academic probation, final academic probation, academic suspension, readmission, and academic dismissal. The Board of Trustees will provide policy direction to the College President to develop and maintain the academic standings process for Hillsborough Community College. The development and maintenance process allows for review and recommendations by the college community. The procedure shall meet the requirements as established by federal and state mandates and by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In addition to the procedure, the information shall be published in the Student Handbook.
