PURPOSE
This rule establishes policy on the duties, responsibilities and authority of the District Board of Trustees.
RULE
The District Board of Trustees of Hillsborough Community College is vested by law with the responsibility to operate the College and with such necessary authority as may be needed for the operation of the College in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, the rules and regulations of the State Board of Education and the Division of Florida Colleges.
In carrying out these duties and responsibilities, the District Board of Trustees, after considering recommendations submitted by the President, shall adopt such rules and policies as are necessary to operate Hillsborough Community College in such a manner as to assure the fulfillment of the responsibilities assigned to the District Board of Trustees. The rules, policies and procedures adopted by the College may supplement those prescribed by the State Board of Education and the Division of Florida Colleges. Such rules, policies and procedures will include, but not be limited to, those authorized by the laws of the State of Florida and the rules of the State Board of Education. The President, General Counsel to the Board, Labor Counsel and any other professional services as determined by the Board, will report directly to the District Board of Trustees.
