PURPOSE

This rule establishes policy for Hillsborough Community College (HCC) regarding substitute admission and graduation requirements for eligible students with a disability.

RULE

HCC will provide reasonable substitutions for admission into and graduation for eligible students with a disability, where documentation can be provide that the student’s inability to meet admission and graduation requirements is related to a disability and where substitutions will not constitute a fundamental alteration in the program.

The College President will develop and maintain an administrative procedure regarding substitute requirements for admission to HCC, for admission to a specific program of study, for re-entry, and for graduation for an eligible student with a disability. The procedure shall meet the requirements as established by federal and state mandates and by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
