PURPOSE
This administrative rule establishes policy on the College’s adoption of textbooks and efforts to minimize the cost of textbooks and instructional materials for students while maintaining quality education.
RULE
Hillsborough Community College is committed to minimizing costs for students for textbooks and instructional materials while promoting quality education, maintaining academic freedom, and eliminating the appearance of and/or conflict of interest, in accordance with applicable State law and rules of the Department of Education. Textbooks and instructional materials will be adopted within the bookstores’ ordering timeframes, to confirm the availability of all textbooks and instructional materials and where possible, to provide for the maximum availability of used textbooks and instructional materials. The President will develop an administrative procedure to implement this policy.
