The hospitality and tourism management AS degree prepares you for employment in management positions in the hospitality industry, and/or provides supplemental training. The hospitality industry includes the hotel, motel, bed and breakfast, resort, club, marina, and other lodging organizations.

Graduates may enter positions such as catering and sales representative, guest services representative, food and beverage specialist, guest services specialist, hospitality supervisor, catering and sales supervisor, food & beverage supervisor, guest services supervisor, assistant hospitality manager, hospitality manager, and motel/hotel manager.

Outcomes and Success Measures

This curriculum is from the current college catalog and is meant to provide prospective students an example of courses taken in this degree/certificate.  It is not intended to be used for graduation requirements. Students should consult an advisor for graduation information.

AS.HFT.RESH (60 Credit Hours)

This program will prepare students for supervisory jobs in the hospitality industry as managers, motel managers, a recreation establishment manager or resort manager.

NOTE: Beginning Fall term 2008, all graduates of this program are eligible to articulate the AS degree in Culinary Management to the BS degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston, Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management.
