The following types of assistance are available for qualified students who wish to attend the HCC Fire Academy:

Florida Pre-Paid Scholarship Program - The Florida Pre-Paid Scholarship Program will provide benefits for members to cover tuition and learning media costs.
Bright Futures Scholarships - Recipients of Bright Futures scholarships are eligible for benefits when taking academy classes that begin in the fall or spring semester.
CareerSource Tampa Bay - Workforce training grants are available for qualifying students through the CareerSource Tampa Bay, 9215 N. Florida Ave., Tampa, 33612. Bloomingdale Volunteer Fire Department Endowed Scholarship - This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the Fire Academy. Preference is afforded to those students residing in the Bloomingdale area east of I-75 and south of I-4
Winthrop Festival of Arts Scholarship - This scholarship is awarded in the amount of $500.00 to be used toward the purchase of textbooks and equipment for the Fire Academy. To apply for this award, please complete and submit the application located on the "Scholarship Application" link below.
Krewe of Sant' Yago Education Foundation - Awarded to students seeking certification as a Firefighter in the State of Florida.
In addition, a number of county and state agencies offer career training programs that provide financial assistance. Applicants are encouraged to contact these agencies in the area in which they reside for further information. Further questions concerning financial aid should be directed to the Financial Aid Office.
