Automotive Service Technology - PSAV 1,800 clock hours (16 months to complete)
Automotive service technology students gain knowledge and skills for entering careers in automotive service and repairs, parts supply and after-market product installation. Instruction and experiences include the functioning, servicing and repairing of engines, suspension systems, brake systems, automotive electrical systems, fuel systems, and air conditioning. Upon successful completion of this program, graduates receive a certification from Hillsborough Community College.

Program Costs
The cost of the program covers tuition, lab fees, materials, tools, tool box, books, and an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification test.
ASE Certification
All students will sit for one or more of these ASE certification tests prior to graduation. Graduation is not contingent upon passing these tests.

Nissan Technician Training Academy (NTTA)
The Nissan Technician Training Academy (NTTA) has partnered with HCC to be one of only three schools in Florida to prepare students for a career as a factory-trained technician at Nissan or INFINITI dealerships nationwide. Students gain hands-on automotive diagnosis and repair experience to step into one a growing career field as a certified Nissan and INFINITI automotive technician.
By participating in NTTA, students earn a vocational certificate in Automotive Service Technology and can apply it toward a two-year Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Industrial Management Technology.

By participating in NTTA, students can earn either a two-year Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree or certificate in Automotive Technology. Students will be eligible to receive certification in the following:

- Engine Control Systems (ECS) Operations
- Engine Mechanical
- Heating, Ventilations & Air Conditioning
- Transmissions Diagnosis & Repair
NTTA graduates who complete and pass all six ASE certifications have the potential to become a Specialist Technician at a Nissan or INFINITI dealership.
