Hawk Alert
Hawk Alert is HCC's official text messaging service. All students, faculty and staff are automatically registered to be notified of college alerts, emergencies and closings. Voice messages will be used in extreme emergencies as determined by HCC. No sign-up is required.
Community Resources
HCC monitors severe weather and will be in communication should there be an alteration to normal operations. Messaging will be distributed through email, Hawk Alert, Facebook and Twitter and posted on this page. Hurricane & Natural Disaster Resources for the HCC Community
At Hillsborough Community College, we are committed to helping our students, faculty, and staff access the resources they need to recover and move forward.
Resources
- Student Assistance: HCC has an emergency fund in place for students. They can apply for emergency assistance by asking for help from any Faculty Counselor and request help from the DreamSavers Fund. Students can schedule an appointment at the following link: HCC Counselors
- HCC Employee Assistance: All money contributed to the HCC Emergency Relief Fund will be given to our HCC families in need. Please help us spread the word about this assistance by letting your colleagues know about the fund. Simply email the Executive Director of the HCC Foundation at: lweddle@hccfl.edu with pictures of damages from the storm.
- FEMA Assistance: If your home or business has been impacted by Hurricane Helene, you can now apply for disaster relief through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). You can apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov or call 1-800-621-3362. In addition a FEMA Disaster Recovery Center has been set up at HCC@ The Regent at 6437 Watson Road, Riverview, FL
