University of Detroit Mercy in partnership with Hillsborough Community College has been granted a 2024-2025 Fulbright Hays group project abroad for educators. This award provides an opportunity for community college, university, and K12 educators to engage in a month-long study focused on the historic legacy and artistic representations of the Afro-Brazilian diaspora in Brazil. Additionally, this program prioritizes the study of Brazilian Portuguese.
