HCC Education Center at MacDill Air Force Base

Beginning January 2016, registration in MacDill Center on-Base classes will only be open to those students who hold an active Department of Defense (DOD) identification card (i.e., active duty, reserve component, retiree, and their authorized dependents plus DOD civilian employees) and other federal employees with federal identification cards and law enforcement personnel with appropriate IDs. Please contact the MacDill Center at 813.259.6396 if you have questions concerning your access eligibility or fit one of the non-DOD eligible categories. This restriction does not impact Center online courses.

Veteran Base Access: Veterans currently use Veteran Health Cards for identification and check-in at VA appointments, but will also use them for Base access under the new program. Medal of Honor recipients and veterans with 100% service-connected disability ratings are eligible for DOD credentials under DOD policy. Take your ID to the Welcome Center for Base access.

The Center is closed on federal holidays.

Directions

• Once you have obtained your Base access pass, you enter the Base through the Dale Mabry gate. Follow the main road through four stoplights. At the fourth light, you should bear right onto Hangar Loop Drive.
• Follow Hangar Loop Drive until you come to Hangar S (on the right side of the road). The next left turn is Condor Street. The Center is located in the Education/Library Building on your right, just past the first stop sign on Condor Street.

Traffic laws and other regulations on Base are strictly enforced. Speed limits are closely monitored. Cell phone use while driving is prohibited, unless using a hands-free device. Personal firearms—even with a concealed carry permit—are not allowed. Because MacDill is a federal installation, any traffic citation issued or other legal action initiated falls under the jurisdiction of the local United States District Court.
