Program Admission Deadlines, Requirements and Application
The following programs require an additional Health Science application and fees. Carefully review program pre-requisite, documentation requirements, and application deadlinesbefore submitting your Health Sciences Application. You must have your HCC Login you received after being accepted via the HCC General Application to submit.
Students will be ranked by their TEAS test Total Score. Cumulative GPA will be used as a tie-breaker.
Official High School or GED and ALL post-secondary transcripts are required. HCC transcript is not required. Completion of ALL prerequisite coursework before or by the application deadline (30 credits). See Program Details for the list of prerequisite courses. (Note: Math and Science prerequisites must be retaken if older than 7 years before the deadline.)
Minimum prerequisite GPA of 2.8.

Before completing the Computed Tomography Program Application be prepared to upload the following:
Copy of valid National Certification from the ARRT or NMCTB (Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, and/or Radiation Therapy).
Copy of valid Florida Certified Radiologic Technologist certification/license
Copy of valid CPR certification by the American Heart Association

College-level English and Math required. Students must achieve a minimum score on a placement test (SAT, ACT, or PERT) or have completed previous college-level coursework. Placement tests must have been taken with in the last two years. For coursework equivalency, a referral to take a placement test, or to determine score cut-offs, contact an HCC Academic Advisor at any campus. Please note:
Math and Science prerequisites must be retaken if older than 7 years before the deadline. Students who prefer not to retake older math classes can meet the math requirement by taking a college placement test before the deadline.
Meeting the Senate Bill 1720 placement test exemption does not satisfy the minimum test score or college-level English and Math requirement.
Must be a high school graduate and 18 years old before the first day of classes.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Advanced Technical Certificate (ATC)

Medical Laboratory Science - Advanced Technical Certificate (ATC)

Minimum prerequisite GPA of 2.8
TEAS test scores: Students are allowed 3 attempts per calendar year (January through December) to achieve a passing score of 60 or higher.
ATI TEAS (version 6) is no longer accepted for Admission. Students must have ATI TEAS version 7 to apply to the Program
Students must have 30 days between attempts.
The scores will not be accepted if the attempts are less than 30 days. The student must wait until the following year to reset the TEAS test attempts.
Passing the test or receiving a higher score will not guarantee admission, but not passing (below 60) means the application will not be considered for admission.
The Nursing Program will offer Information Sessions during the year providing essential program information.
Attendance is not a requirement, but it is strongly recommended.

Completion of the EMT program - Provide an official transcript showing successful completion of the EMT program is required. If the institution where the EMT program was completed does not provide students with an official transcript, a diploma/certificate showing successful completion and the hours/duration of the program will be accepted as proof of completion.
Minimum EMT program GPA and overall GPA of 2.0 (If your overall GPA is below 2.0, meet with an academic advisor to work on raising your GPA before applying to the program).

If you work with any of the below community of interest employers, you must submit an employment verification letter or email from the supervisor or human resources confirming full-time employment as an EMT or firefighter. Job offers or hiring letter/emails are not accepted.
