Radiography Mission, Goals and SLO

Mission:

The mission of the Radiography Program at Hillsborough Community College is to prepare students to be competent, professional, entry-level radiographers. The program empowers students to excel and succeed in the profession by providing a strong foundation as a core for life-long learning.

Goals and Student Learning Outcomes:

Goal 1: Students will be able to demonstrate clinical competence.

Student Learning Outcomes
:

  1. Students will apply appropriate positioning skills.
  2. Students will verbalize and select if possible appropriate technical factors.
  3. Students will practice radiation protection.

Goal 2: Students will effectively demonstrate appropriate communication skills.

  1. Students will have the knowledge & ability to communicate effectively.
  2. Students will demonstrate appropriate written communication skills.

Goal 3: Students will use critical thinking and problem solving skills.

  1. Students will adapt radiographic procedure to patient’s condition without undue hesitation.
  2. Students will apply proper sequencing of positions.

Goal 4: Students will conduct themselves in a manner promoting professionalism.
