The Hillsborough Community College Corrections Academy prepares Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Cadets with the necessary training required to pass the Florida Department of Law Enforcement State Certification Examination. Cadets are prepared both physically and mentally to perform as a Correctional Officer.
The Academy provides an intensive 420 hours of training that meets or exceeds all state requirements. Emphasis is placed on correctional operations, defensive tactics, first Aid, firearms, and physical fitness.
